    Bambang Sudarto was born in Sukapura on 5 January 1956. He studied at Sekolah Teknik Pasuruan and SMEA PGRI Pasuruan before continuing his art education at STSRI “ASRI” Yogyakarta. This background shaped his artistic approach, combining technical precision with strong visual sensitivity in his painting practice.

    Throughout his career, he has actively participated in numerous exhibitions across Indonesia, including Gambar Babad Diponegoro and Babad Ngayogyakarta HB IV–HB V in Yogyakarta, as well as Reimaginery Renaissance: The Grandeur of Classicism and Bandung Painting Today at Grey Gallery, Bandung (2024). Other notable exhibitions include Road to Max Havelaar: The Book that Killed Colonialism (Bentara Budaya Jakarta, 2023), Alter Ego with Museum Basuki Abdullah (Bandung, 2022), and Tahta Untuk Rakyat: Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX (Jogja Gallery, 2021). He is currently based in Bandung, where he continues to create and exhibit his works.
